What you have to do first is:

1. Register a new ICQ number (“secret UIN”).
2. It is desirable that you fill in some UIN details and disable the need of authorization to add it to the contact list. If this is not done, see below the Existing limits, paragraph 2.
3. Make your target to add this number to his/her contact list. (For example, if you are acquainted with your target, you may give your secret UIN away as your new number and log on every now and then. Be clever and folksy.)
4. Be careful: the secret UIN must remain secret under any circumstances. It may not be added to anyone else’s contact list.
5. Use our service at the special page as much as you please: http://kanicq.ru/invisible/en/?secret=secret UIN. Bear in mind that you can check only one number of the person who has you secret UIN in his/her contact list.

Existing limits:

1. Your target must use the server’s contact list.
2. If the secret UIN requires authorization to add it to the contact list, but the number has already been added without authorization request, you should allow the target to add it manually. In QIP this is called “Grant Future Authorization”. Note that disabling the need of authorization ex post facto would have no effect.
3. Invisibility can be detected only in the case that your secret UIN is present in the target’s contact list and in no one else’s.
